When Sales Need An Uplift (Part 2)

Last week, I shared 4 of 7 proven actions that can improve your sales productivity.

Most often, the greater the sales the higher the potential you will have for increased profit. Therefore, it is very important that sales be at an optimum to position you for the success you need. What is done to rekindle the sales success line, when sales are not as prominent as you would like, most often determines a particular business entity’s longevity.

To review, the 1st four proven actions are:

  1. Prospecting - Re-sell to existing clients and also examine your networking group.
  2. Re-examine your approach process. First impressions matter.
  3. Emphasize needs solutions. People do not buy to please you but to satisfy needs.
  4. Sharpen your interview skills.Obtain your prospect’s permission to proceed and a commitment to work exclusively with you.

Here are the remaining 3 of 7 proven actions that can improve your sales productivity:

  1. Broaden your market exploration. Often you can be lulled into repeating the same pattern of activity that has produced prior results. However, it is also important to examine whether that prior activity is now producing adequate results. Therefore, by broadening your market analysis, you just may discover a new source of potential business that would enable you to rekindle your sales spirit as well as provide you an opportunity to broaden your business brand.

  2. Evaluate your community profile. What are you doing in your community that enhances your business profile? Are you active in your local chamber or business association? Are you involved in service activities that enables your clients and prospects to discover your commitment to community needs? How are you utilizing social or legacy media to convey your commitment activity? Do your actions follow your words? How are you making your business the business that others want to become associated?  Broadly expanding your face in the community will attract attention to your business and should if you display the value bring potential sales to your door.

  3. Have a head check. Nothing can take the place of authentic positive attitude.  Now a positive attitude will not allow you to do anything; but, it will allow you to do everything much better than a negative attitude. Never not believe in yourself and your ability to perform. Never allow yourself to take a victim position. You are always in charge of you and it begins between your ears. Therefore realize you most often get exactly what you think about. Positive attitudes will work miracles.

It is important that your sales effort supports your business and not the other way around. In doing so you should remain focused on growing results and committed to making the changes and performing the evaluations necessary for lasting sales success.
