Business Short

Time

One of the great mysteries of life is how we utilize time. When it counts, we never seem to find the right amount to adequately address our needs.

Ben Franklin said, “If we take care of the minutes, the years will take care of themselves.” It is hard to understand how one simple minute could be that important. However, when you take the cumulative effect of every minute and apply that to our lives, it becomes quite an arsenal of opportunity.

Think with me for a moment. Let’s say that every minute we have is worth a penny. We can regularly find pennies in parking lots and other related areas virtually daily. Not often though do we regularly stop and pick them up. But let’s say that we began to double our pennies each day for a solid month. At the end of the first week, we have sixty-four pennies. Of course, that is not a great deal of cash; but, following that concept at the end of a month, we would have 536,870,912 pennies. If we convert that to dollars, it is a total of $5,368,709.12.  Unbelievable isn’t it! You see, the value we place on each minute of every day will have a huge impact on the remainder of our lives.

Never take time for granted. Use it to the fullest whether it be at work or at leisure. Time is a gift. Once it is spent, you can’t get it back. So live smartly. Never allow others to waste your time. Don’t do things that waste your time either. Value your time, for you just may have less of it than you think!
