Business Short

Teaming

Witter Bynner was an American poet, writer and scholar who said, “The biggest problem in the world could have been solved when it was small.” That makes a great deal of sense.

It clearly reveals at some point, a situation of mammoth proportions currently, could have been eliminated IF action would have been taken. Therefore, would that imply that personal accountability is then the foundational requirement to eliminating issues that are destined to become national or international challenges? Could this mean that the implication of teamwork, which one might conclude from our working together terminology is really not that important?

Just indicating that working together solves all challenges is selling short the understanding and demands of true teamwork. The working together premise has often meant that we think and act the same way so that confirmation of an action might be satisfied. But to have true teamwork it demands that individuals think together not alike. This directs that individual accountability comes to the forefront and then is assimilated into a common bond for a unified action to occur. That means simply, everyone at least buys into an agreed upon position.
